Los Angeles City College Math Contest for High School and Middle School Students, Since 1951

Parking? Free parking next to the Student Union Building in Lot 4 (the faculty & staff lot), upper level of the parking structure, enter/exit just slightly south of the intersection of Heliotrope Drive and Monroe Street.

Each student must reserve a place for herself/himself by clicking on the Registration Form link and filling in the form.

Saturday’s schedule is:

7:45 am to 8:45 am: check-in on the first floor of the Student Union and have breakfast on the second floor.

8:45 am to 9:00 am: seating and instructions in the multipurpose room on the third floor.

9:00 am to 11:00 am: 25 question multiple choice test

11:00 am to 12:00 pm: take photos with your friends, talk to teachers, meet LACC Math professors, check out the campus, etc.

It is a fun morning and a chance to meet students from other schools.

Parents, teachers, counsellors, and principals are encouraged to attend and will have time, while the students take the test, to relax, talk, and meet parents and teachers from other schools as well as the LACC math professors and the LACC President, Mary Gallagher.

$1,600 in cash prizes for the top 6 students, several $4,000 scholarships to attend LACC full-time, and several $1,000 scholarships to attend LACC part-time while still in high school.
